📢 Important Update for 2025–26: “Bell to Bell, No Cell Act” (Arkansas SB142)
Beginning this fall, Arkansas Law SB142 goes into effect in all public schools. Under the new “Bell to Bell, No Cell Act,” students may not have personal electronic devices (including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, tablets, etc.) in their possession during the school day—from arrival until dismissal, including lunch/recess—and while riding the bus.
What you need to know:
• Devices must be powered off and stored in backpacks—out of sight and unused.
• “Possession” means carrying on your person (ex: pocket) or accessing a device on campus or school buses before/after school.
• MSD is not responsible for lost or stolen devices.

Melanie Rock was elected as Board President, succeeding Deborah Smith.
Jesse Clark is now serving as Vice President, taking over from Melanie Rock.
Danny Riggan has stepped into the role of Secretary, replacing Jesse Clark.
