Today, we celebrate the birth of our nation and the values of freedom, unity, and courage that define the United States of America.

🎆 Fun Fact: Although the Declaration of Independence was officially adopted on July 4, 1776, most of the signers didn’t actually sign it until August 2nd! July 4th is the day the final wording was approved.

We hope everyone in the Leopard Family has a safe and joyful 4th of July filled with family, food, and fireworks.

📣 At this week’s Malvern School District Board Meeting, board leadership roles were officially restructured: Melanie Rock was elected as Board President, succeeding Deborah Smith. Jesse Clark is now serving as Vice President, taking over from Melanie Rock. Danny Riggan has stepped into the role of Secretary, replacing Jesse Clark. We thank our board members for their continued service and dedication to the success of our students, staff, and community. We are all so happy to have such a great school board! We’re excited to share another Leopard, Nicole D. Hughes, is transitioning into a new role as an AE Aide at Malvern High School after serving as an aide at MES! 🎉 Ms. Hughes is a proud Malvern native and MHS graduate (Class of ’89!) with a huge heart for her community. After 24 years at the Department of Human Services and five years in education, she brings well-rounded experience, and a deep love for helping students become their best. When she’s not at school, you might find her baking and decorating cakes! 😄 Her motto? “You will either get busy living or get busy dying. Malvern Middle School proudly celebrates the retirement of three incredible members of our team: Martha Coston, Debbie Hobbs, and Karen Williams. Together, these outstanding educators have put so many years of #PassionPrideExcellence into the lives of our students and our school community. Malvern School District Athletics is proud to share that Wesley Morely represented us well at the 2025 Meet of Champions! The only sophomore in attendance at the competition, Morely placed 8th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.84. We are extremely proud of him for competing among Arkansas’ best at the 2025 Meet of Champions at Harding University! He qualified for the Meet of Champions after becoming the Class 4A State Champion in the 200 meter dash with a winning time of 22.10 at Heber Springs. Earlier in the season, he was also the district runner-up in the 200 meter dash and placed 4th in the 100 meter dash at the 4A-7 Sr. Conference Meet in Nashville. Coach Austin Warford said it best: “Wesley finished eighth against the top runners in the state of Arkansas in the 200 meter dash. Only sophomore in the race. Proud of him for representing the school district and working his butt off all season.” Morely is a wonderful athlete. Many of you may know him from our Malvern Leopard Football team. He was also on the Leopard Wrestling team this school year. We are very thankful to have an athlete like him who represents the Malvern Leopards so well.
