Here is some additional info regarding our safe room: There is a public Safe Room available when there is an active tornado WARNING in the area. This shelter was made available through federal funding. During school hours, students and district staff are the priority for Safe Room occupancy. The community will only be admitted after all the students have been sheltered. This shelter should automatically open when the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning for the city of Malvern and will remain open only until the warning is lifted. Afterward, the Safe Room must be evacuated. Smoking, the use of tobacco, or the possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages in any form is prohibited in the Safe Room and on all school property in accordance with Arkansas law. The possession of any firearm/weapon and/or illegal drugs or other contraband on school property is prohibited. Public Safe Rooms: o Malvern School District Malvern School District Saferoom 1517 S. Main Street Malvern, AR 72104 *Entrance is through the black metal door on Georgia Street that faces the Assembly of God Church *Pets are not allowed in the Safe Room.

🐣 Hands-On Learning in Physical Science! 🦅 Last Friday, our high school Physical Science students had a special hands-on experience! Earlier this semester, they studied Matter in Organisms, exploring how energy and matter move through ecosystems. As part of their learning, they have been following the Big Bear Valley Live Eagle Cam, watching a pair of wild eagles raise their newly hatched eaglets in real time! To bring the lesson even closer to home, their teacher brought in some bantam chicks from her own flock, giving students a chance to interact with them up close! For some, it was their very first time handling baby chicks. The excitement was contagious, and even Mrs. Ray’s and Mr. Devore’s classes joined in on the fun!
