🎉 Malvern Beta Students Are Making a Difference! 🎉 We are so proud to announce that our 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th/8th grade Beta students have been recognized in the Time for Change Youth Challenge Awards for their incredible service-learning projects! 🌟 💥 A Special Shoutout to Our 4th Grade MES Beta Students 💥 Their project, "Be a Hero, Keep Litters at Zero," was selected as a WINNER in the challenge, earning a $1,000 award to support their cause! 💰🐾 They’re tackling the issue of stray animals in our city by raising awareness and funds for spaying and neutering. They've already raised over $1,200 for Cuddle Babies Rescue, and they’re thrilled to give another $1,000 to help continue this life-saving mission. 💚 🎉 And Congratulations to Our Finalists! 🎉 Each of these amazing groups was awarded $50 to help grow their impact even further: 📚 5th Grade – Book Buddies & Literacy Love Celebrated Read Across America Week by reading Dr. Seuss to residents at The Crossing, sharing homemade “green eggs and ham,” and raising funds for Happi Readers, a charity that brings books to kids around the world. 🌍📖 🎨 6th Grade – Kindness Rocks Spread joy with hand-painted inspirational rocks delivered to our fire and police departments, Cornerstone Daycare, and Malvern City Park. Every child at the daycare even received a custom rock with their name! 💕🎨 💻 7th/8th Grade – Unplugged Potential: E-Waste Awareness Leading a district-wide e-waste recycling drive, these students are working to dispose of old electronics properly and are hosting an E-Waste Art Contest (with prizes sponsored by Optimum) to raise awareness through creativity. 🌱♻️ 👏 We couldn’t be prouder of our students for showing heart, initiative, and leadership. Dear Leopard Family, Due to current conditions: Boil order or possibly no water, trees and power lines still down on the roads, flooding issues, families trying to take care of their own needs, and other possible issues the district may not know about, please arrange child care for Monday as there is a strong possibility we MAY not have school on Monday, April 7, 2025. 🚨 No School – Monday, April 7 🚨 Due to unsafe conditions on several bus routes and an ongoing boil order, Malvern School District will be closed tomorrow, Monday, April 7. We are currently working on a plan to provide safe water access for students and staff on Tuesday and Wednesday. The boil order is expected to be lifted sometime Wednesday. All administrative and central office staff should report to work as they are able and conditions allow. 🌎🎨 Science Meets Art at Wilson Intermediate! 🔬🖌️ Wilson Intermediate teachers Mrs. Eifert (Science) and Mrs. Solano (Art) teamed up for an incredible cross-curricular project! Students explored Earth-Sun relationships and seasonal change in science, then brought their learning to life by creating detailed clay and acrylic models in art. Here is some additional info regarding our safe room: There is a public Safe Room available when there is an active tornado WARNING in the area. This shelter was made available through federal funding. During school hours, students and district staff are the priority for Safe Room occupancy. The community will only be admitted after all the students have been sheltered. This shelter should automatically open when the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning for the city of Malvern and will remain open only until the warning is lifted. Afterward, the Safe Room must be evacuated. Smoking, the use of tobacco, or the possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages in any form is prohibited in the Safe Room and on all school property in accordance with Arkansas law. The possession of any firearm/weapon and/or illegal drugs or other contraband on school property is prohibited. Public Safe Rooms: o Malvern School District Malvern School District Saferoom 1517 S.
